Rekonstruksi Estetika Pertunjukan Teater melalui Media Mapping Naskah Teater Umang-umang atau Orkes Madun II dan Ozon Orkes Madun IV Karya Arifin C. Noer: Studi Kasus Festival Teater Modern Universitas Siliwangi

Abstract

In Indonesia, modern theater performances using media mapping are still very rare, this is because the use of media mapping is still very limited in space and equipment. Starting from this problem, this study aims to: 1) find out the visual aesthetic aspects of modern theater performances, 2) know the dramaturgy and story aspects, 3) find out the results of audience appreciation, and 4) find out the media mapping aspects in performances. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, which aims to examine the aesthetic reconstruction of theater performance through the use of media mapping in the staging of the script Umang-umang or Orkes Madun II and Ozone Orkes Madun IV by Arifin C. Noer in the Modern Theater Festival of Siliwangi University. Data was collected through performance observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies in the form of drama scripts, video recordings, performance photos, as well as production and festival archives. Data analysis is carried out interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The analysis is focused on the aesthetic transformation of text to performance, the dramaturgy relationship of the script with digital visuals, as well as the formation of new aesthetic meanings and experiences through media mapping. The validity of the data is maintained through triangulation of sources and techniques and confirmation of findings to the main informant.
